Anita

Today  I  am in  Rome   and  they  celebrate   250   years  since   " Trevi's Fountain "  was  first   shown  to public .

The   scene   of   Anita  Ekberg  in the   fountain, inviting  Marcello   Mastroianni    to  join  her   in  1960 movie  "  La  Dolce  Vita "  by  Federico  Fellini, is  possible   one of  the   most  memorable ever movie  scene.
If   the   movie   was   done   now   what   "Sexy Blonde   Anita"    would  wear  ?
Prabal Gurung
Nina  Ricci
Givenchy

Felder  Felder  (  the  Super  lovely  sisters )
Bordelle  www.Bordelle.co.uk  the  super  sexy  brand  created   as  Underwear but ....  very outwear !!!

Gucci  by  Frida  Giannini

Versace

And    now    enjoy   the  famous   scene  !

Do you want to marry me ???

One  of  the  person   who  inspired  and   teach  me   more in  all  the  aspect   of  Creative   Direction  is   John  Galliano ,  I  never   had   the   chance   to  spend   time   with   him   but   just  observing  his amazing  work   for    Dior    and  John  Galliano,  was   enough to  spin   my  imagination .

Every   time , the   representation  of   the   show  was    something   amazing   transporting into a  Fantasy dream ,  but  then the   garments   in  the   shop  would   always    be wearable . (he  was   working  as  C.D.at  Dior   he    did  not  need   to   do  chinos ,  for  people   to   ride  metro  at  pick  time ,  but  create  clothing  for  a   privileged   society  ) .

Every   time   I  was  receiving   for   a photo  shoot  on  HIA   magazine  a garment   from  Dior   Haute   Couture  I  was  feeling  one  of  the  most    special   person   on  Fashion  planet   .

I remember   when   the  Saddle   bag  was  created  ...   was   a  MUST !!!! ( I  still   have   mine  in denim in  my  personal  Archive  :-D )

I  was   so  in  love   with   the  limited edition  dedicated   to   different   country  which  inspired    collection   of  John  @ Dior   .

Above   some  of   my   shoot  on  HIA  magazine   featuring   Dior  Haute   Couture by  John  Galliano .

At one  point   my  EiC  Mai Badr  went  to  meet   him  for   interview   and   asked  me   if   I  had  any  question    for  John    so  I  send   " Do  you  want  to  marry  me ? "  .

I  know   John  is   for sure   having   great   time   either   without   working and his  creativity  flown  either without  signing  a  collection ,    but  I   really  miss   to  see  what   he  could    do  next   and   I  believe   many   more  people  do  too.

Ciao

On my side table

The  other day I was talking on phone to my  friend  Gianluca, who  was   watching  the   football  match  Manchester city vs  United,  which  for   him is  a big  deal  as  he  is a  Football  agent ,  and  he  was   sure   I  knew    all  about   it .....   but   I  had  to  explaine   him  that   the only paper I do  read  on  a  regular  base   is WWD, and  that   on  my  side  table I  have as  bible  D.V. by  Diane   Vreeland  .

She  is  my  icon,  I  think  that  I  did  read  her  book  over  and   over ,  I  like  her  not  just  for   fashion   glamour  but  for   her personality,   for   the   courage    to  say   the  things she   thought  in  a   English  and   conservative   society .
I  did    read  many  time   the  part  when   at  the   start   of   second  world  war  ,  she   did   not  leave  Paris   together  with  her  family   to  go  back  to  the  U.S.  , but   she  decided  to  stay   there   up  to  the  last  moment because   she   did  not   know  once  left when  she   could   see  Chanel   again  !!!
Now  is   time  of   globalization,  in  every   big  city   there   is  a   big  Chanel ,  Vuitton....   shop ,   shops   are  open   7  days  a  week ,  Net-a-Porter,  Mytheresa ... Matches  ,  make posssible   to  buy  big   brands    without  leaving  the   house  sometime  I   feel  that   making  all   so   easy make  it  a  bit less  desirable  .
Here   some  of  her   Diane    quotes :

Elegance is innate. It has nothing to do with being welldressed. Elegance is refusal.

The only real elegance is in the mind; if you've got that, the rest really comes from it.

Diane Vreeland
The last   exhibition  at  the  Met   for  some  reason  made   me   think  of   D.V. a   lot , there   is  a  movie  Funny Face   with  Audrey Hepburn   which   is inspired   to  Diane  ,   The   Devil's wear  Prada  was  nothing  new   as   said    yesterday  and   today   .     Diane   and now  Anna   Wintour   for    which   I  have  a  greatest  respect  and  admiration  .
Now   enjoy  a  scene  of  the  movie !!!

THINK PINK  Lyricshttp://srv.clickfuse.com/showads/track/imp.php?av=true&cid=29971407&aid=39380454&aids=&caph=&cids=&artist=&song=Think+Pink%21&uri=http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/funnyface/thinkpink.htm&t=1328111001

Think pink! think pink! when you shop for summer clothes.
Think pink! think pink! if you want that quel-que chose.
Red is dead, blue is through,
Green's obscene, brown's taboo.
And there is not the slightest excuse for plum or puce
—or chartreuse.
Think pink! forget that
Dior says black and rust.
Think pink! who cares if the new look has no bust.
Now, I wouldn't presume to tell a woman
what a woman oughtta think,
But tell her if she's gotta think: think pink—!
—for bags! pink for shoes!
Razzle, dazzle and spread the news!
And pink's for the lady with joie de vive!
Pinks for all the family.
Try pink shampoo.
Pink toothpaste too.
Play in pink, all day in pink,
Pretty gayin pink.
Drive in pink, come alive in pink,
Have a dive in pink.
Go out dancing but just remember one thing:
You can get a little wink
If you got a little pink
In your swing.

MEN [painters, with NYC accents]
Think pink! think pink, it's the latest word, you know.
Think pink! think pink and you're Michelangelo.

WOMEN.
Feels so gay, feels so bright.
Makes you day, makes you night.
Pink is now the colour to which
you gotta switch!

MEN.
(Do what you gotta switch!)

WOMEN.
Every stitch!

MEN.
(Every stitch you switch!)

MAGGIE.
Think pink! think pink on the long, long road ahead.

WOMEN & MEN.
On the road, (& MAGGIE) think pink!

MAGGIE.
...think pink and the world is rosey-red

WOMEN & MEN.
(Everything's rosey.)

MAGGIE.
Everything on the great horizon,
Everything that you can think—
and that includes the kitchen sink,
Think pink!

WOMEN & MEN.
Think pink, think pink
Think pink, think pink
Think pink, think pink!

Yesterday and Today

I  love this   year Metropolitan  Fashion Exhibition " Schiaparelli  and   Prada    Impossible  Conversation " .
Why  having  an   immaginary   friend   should   stop  growing  up   ?   working   in  fashion  allow   us  to   keep  using   our  imagination,  team   work  is good ,  but individuality is also  necessary .

I  never   thought  before,  but there   are   really  lots  of  similarity  in  the   style between  Miuccia and   Elsa , lots  more   then   what   I  can  see   in  Prada  meet  Yves  Saint  Laurent  always mention   as   her   reference
Since I  was  a  kid  I was   fan  of  Schiaparelli because   she is like  me  from  Rome , and    because   she   gave name to  my  favorite  tone  of   pink   "  Shocking " .  Every time   I  pass   by  Place  Vendome  in  Paris I   see    the   entrance  of   her  "Maison ", and   looking  forward   to  when   the  brand   will  be  finally be  relaunched   (Diego Della  Valle   bought  the  brand  over   5  years  ago .... but   still  nothing, latest  news  is next  year  ) .

Elsa  Schiaparelli

(I  have my  turban  in  shocking pink)

I  am  only  kid , but Miuccia   Prada  is my  sister !!!

Roberta London

I  am   sitting   at  my  desk  in  my  living room   working  on  the  editing  of   my  June  and  July   photo  shoot  for  HIA   magazine ( which  are   amazing ....) ,  as   well  as  planning    the  winter  photo  shoot  and   I  have  a   very   large  window .... and   I   keep   watching  raining    for  over  3   weeks .

Last September   sitting   at  the  Burberry SS 12  show  one  of my  colleague  complained   that the   collection   was    too   winter,  in  remand  I   did  say  that  the   Designer   Team  is   very  British   and   the  brand  is   all   about   Cool  Britannia.....   ( that  include   Tea at  Fortnum and Mason   but  glamour  rain  )   .

I  honestly   had  no  chance  to   wear   my  pastel   colour   clothing  yet  but  my  trench  Coat   from  Burberry   seams   to  be  always   out  !!!!
So  maybe    I   need   to   make  a  selection  of    different  Trench  as    the   weather    does  not   seams    will   change any  time  soon .

BlugirlBurberry

Carolina Herrera

Erdem

Jean Paul Gaultier

Marc Jacobs

Pringle

Sportmax

Thakoon

Viktor & Rolf

Dior

+   I  have  a   dilemma   The   Trench  Coat   became    famous   thank   to Humphrey  Bogart   in  Casablanca   does   it   mean    if  I   go   to  Marocco   the   rain  is  there   too !!!

Soon  after I  posted   this  on  my  blog  I  saw   that there   is  a  legal  action  from  Bogart Estate vs Burberry  to  have   used  the  above   final  scene  of  Casablanca   in  thier   social  network   while    illustrating  the  trench  coat   .

Stephen Bogart, son of the Hollywood legend,  saying: "This is such an incredibly disappointing and disrespectful action by Burberry.

Sorry  Stephen   I  could   not  disagree  more ,  I  do  not  see  where   there    disrespect  is ????  ....

J'adore Anna Dello Russo

Today  I  open  twitter   on  my  phone  by  a  chance  and  I  saw  that  my  friend  Racil  Chalhoub   wrote  that  Anna  Dello  Russo  is   H &M  latest  collaboration  and     that  Anna   is  designing  an  accessories  collection  ,  this  made  me   blasting   happy !!!

Many  time , maybe  because  I  am  Italian  I  get  asked   to  explaine about  Anna , people   who  are   new  to  the   business   think   is just  as  Fashion   Victim  with   eccentric   taste    who   decided  to  became  famous.
Well    could   not  be  more   wrong !!!   Anna   created   the  excess   of   80  " More  is  More  "  in  fashion in  the  same  way  as   Tony  Duquette  in  Interior with her  editorial pages  in  Italian  Vogue   .

She    is  an   amazing  stylist   first   of  all  and   she  did   work  very  hard  for   it ,  in more   then  one  occasion   working  with  photographer   who  worked   with  her   as  well   I  been   told   how   big   was   the  wardrobe she   was   taking  on  a  shoot  in order    to  be   sure   to  do  a  great   job , and   not  items  selected  casually   just   to  take   a big  wardrobe  .

I  like   the   way  she   keep  reinventing  herself ,  first   at  Vogue   Italia ,  where    all the  photographer wanted  to  work  with   her ,  then  moved  as   Editor   in  Chief  @ L'Uomo  Vogue   ( probably after   Franca  played  Mirror Mirror  !!! ;-D  ),  and     then  ending  as   Fashion  Director   at  Large  @ Japanese   Vogue ,  a  Vogue   placed  on  the  map  and   attention  thanks  to   her  incredible  personality .
I  adore   the   way    she  is   alwasy    kind  to  people  when   asked   to  take  a picture ,  the  fact   she   is  always   made   up  ,   that    she    keep   slim ,  and    always smiles .
.

Here   I    made   a  selection of  possible   looks  for   Anna  (   collectable  items )   .
Francesco Scognamiglio because  color  lace  is  sexy in a pretty way

Isabel  Marant   for  when  she  walk Cucciolina

Jil  Sander  for her  business   meeting

Manish  Arora   for   her  trip to  India

Marc  Jacobs for  when  she watch "Desperate Housewives"

Nina  Ricci  for   her  trip in  London  to  Chelsea Flower  market

Prabal  Gurung   (  as  I  Adore  him  )

Prada  (  this look   stand  for  the  all   collection  which  is MUST)

Tsumori  Chisato  as  she  work  for  Japanese Vogue

Versace  Mermaid   collection  because   is  a  must  to have

Vionnet   as   the   collection  is  amazing

Louis Vuitton  a dream

Balmain  to go  and  buy  a  baguette

 Chanel   is  for  every day

Dolce  & Gabbana

Gucci   "The  Great  Gasby"

Jason Wu  for "Ball  the  La Rose "

Jeremy  Scott   for a  trip  to  Texas

Lanvin  because    is   fantastic

Mary  Katrantzoe    ( but  I saw  her   wearing  it  already  @ Costume  National  show )

 Moschino    to  attend  a " Corrida "

Looking  forward  to see and buy her collection out  in  the   shop  in  October  at  the  end of  Paris FW.

Ciao
